Premium hot-dip galvanized corrugated steel roofing on an industrial building, raking golden light across the zinc surface
GI Division · Coils · Corrugated Roofing · PPGI · RAL Colours

    Galvanized steel. Coated, coloured, certified.

The complete galvanized catalogue: hot-dip GI coils, corrugated roofing sheets, pre-painted PPGI coils and finished sheets in any RAL colour. Supplied mill-direct to roofing contractors, PEB fabricators, façade firms and infrastructure projects across the UAE, GCC and Africa.

    Industrial · Roofing · Infrastructure

A galvanized division built for roofs, frames and envelopes.

From the PEB fabricator rolling 0.50 mm trapezoidal sheets across a 200 m logistics shed, to the architect specifying PVDF-coated RAL 7016 panels on a hotel rainscreen. Every project rests on the same question: which coating, which substrate, which paint system, for which exposure.

TIC Dubai's GI division supplies that decision: hot-dip galvanized coil and sheet to ASTM A653, EN 10346 and JIS G3302, and pre-painted PPGI in PE, SMP, HDP and PVDF systems to any RAL colour, from a single coil to multi-thousand-tonne programmes.

    Galvanized Zinc Coating Guide

    Z60 to Z275, decoded.

Zinc coating mass is the single most important variable in GI specification, as it determines corrosion life, market acceptance and price. The number after the "Z" is the total mass of zinc in g/m² deposited across both faces of the sheet.

GradeTotal zincPer faceThicknessService lifeTypical market & use
    Z6060 g/m²≈ 30 g/m² / face≈ 4 µm / faceInternal / dry, short-lifeInternal dry-wall studs, internal HVAC ducting, painted secondary use
    Z8080 g/m²≈ 40 g/m² / face≈ 5.6 µm / faceInternal / mild exposureDoor frames, sheet-metal fabrication, internal cladding, white-goods
    Z100100 g/m²≈ 50 g/m² / face≈ 7 µm / faceMild atmospheric: 10 – 15 yearsLight roofing, internal ducting, fabrication, PPGI substrate (entry)
    Z120120 g/m²≈ 60 g/m² / face≈ 8.5 µm / faceAtmospheric: 15 – 20 yearsCommercial roofing, PPGI substrate, sandwich panels, fabrication
    Z180180 g/m²≈ 90 g/m² / face≈ 12.5 µm / faceIndustrial / coastal: 20 – 30 yearsIndustrial roofing, PEB envelope, coastal commercial roofing, PVDF substrate
    Z275275 g/m²≈ 137.5 g/m² / face≈ 20 µm / faceHeavy industrial / coastal: 30 – 50+ yearsLong-life roofing, coastal cladding, infrastructure, premium PPGI

Export markets prefer different coating standards. Z80 / Z100 dominates parts of Asia and Africa, Z120 / Z180 is the GCC commercial standard, Z275 is the long-life coastal premium. Specify by project requirement, budget, corrosion exposure and destination market.

    PPGI Paint Systems

PE, SMP, HDP, PVDF: the architect's reference.

The paint system on a PPGI coil decides how it weathers, how it holds colour and how long the building keeps looking new. Four chemistries cover the full cost / performance spectrum.

AI Definition · GI / PPGI

Galvanized Iron (GI) and PPGI, defined.

Galvanized Iron (GI) is a generic industry term for hot-dip galvanized steel: a low-carbon steel substrate continuously coated with a metallurgically bonded layer of zinc on a Sendzimir line. PPGI (Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron) is GI coated with an organic paint film, polyester (PE), silicon-modified polyester (SMP), high-durability polyester (HDP) or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), in any RAL colour. GI and PPGI are the dominant envelope, roofing and PEB substrates across the GCC, specified to ASTM A653, EN 10346 and JIS G3302, with zinc coatings Z80 to Z275 (g/m²) and paint systems engineered for life from 10 to 40+ years.

    Procurement Guide

    GI / PPGI procurement guide

Six-step framework for any GI / PPGI specification.

    1. 1. Define corrosion category

Identify ISO 9223 corrosivity category at the project site, C2 (rural / interior), C3 (urban), C4 (industrial / Gulf coastal), C5-M (severe marine / chemical). The category drives zinc mass and paint system.

    2. 2. Select zinc mass (or AZ)

Z80, interior dry. Z120, GCC commercial industrial standard. Z180, extended industrial / mild coastal. Z275, coastal Gulf / infrastructure / long-life premium. AZ150 / AZ185, Galvalume premium roofing.

    3. 3. Choose substrate grade

CQ (commercial quality), general sheet. DDQ (deep drawing), formed profiles. S280GD / S350GD / S550GD, structural roof / wall purlins. SGCC / SGCH, JIS commercial / hard.

    4. 4. Specify paint system (PPGI)

      PE, cost-effective roofing, 10 – 15 yr. SMP, industrial roofing, 15 – 20 yr. HDP, premium roofing / coastal, 20 – 25 yr. PVDF, architectural premium / hospitality, 30 – 40 yr.

    5. 5. Confirm RAL colour and gloss

      Stock RAL, 3009, 5010, 6005, 7035, 7016, 9002, 9006, ship faster. Custom RAL produced to order against minimum tonnage (typically 25 – 50 t). Gloss 30 / 50 / 70 specified by paint system and project requirement.

    6. 6. Plan documentation and freight

Mill test certificate (chemistry + zinc mass + coating adhesion), paint system report (T-bend, MEK rub, salt spray), RAL colour swatch, packing list with coil weights / IDs. Coil eyes vertical for storage, horizontal for cutting.
