IPN sections are the traditional European I-beam, hot-rolled with tapered inner flange faces to DIN 1025-1 / EN 10024. While IPE has largely replaced IPN in new construction, IPN remains specified for retrofit work, mechanical handling, rail and certain industrial applications.
