Technical overview.
Raw MDF is the foundation of the modern joinery industry: a homogeneous, dense fibreboard with a smooth machinable surface that takes paint, lacquer, veneer and laminate flawlessly. It is the default panel for cabinetry, wardrobes, doors, mouldings and architectural interiors across the region.
Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood panel manufactured by breaking down softwood and hardwood residuals into fibres, combining them with a thermosetting resin (typically urea-formaldehyde), and bonding the mixture under high temperature and pressure into a uniform panel. Raw MDF is supplied sanded on both faces, with no surface coating, ready for the customer's chosen finish.
Raw MDF variants.
E1 MDF
Low-emission grade. Formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.124 mg/m³ (EN 717-1). The international standard for interior furniture, joinery, hospitality fit-out and any project specifying healthy indoor air quality.
E2 MDF
Standard commercial grade. Higher emission tolerance, used in non-critical, well-ventilated industrial applications or markets where E1 is not mandated. Lower cost than E1.
