Slab-table and flying-form systems
Dubai high-rise towers often use slab-table or flying-form systems that climb with the core. The plywood faces on these steel tables see 60-100+ reuses over the programme. Only high-density hardwood-core WBP panels with 220 g/m² film survive this duty cycle without delamination or excessive wear.
Core wall and shear wall shutters
Core walls in high-rise towers pour in 3-4 metre lifts with tight dimensional tolerances. Film-faced plywood on steel-framed shutters must stay flat under concrete pressure and resist the abrasion of repeated stripping and re-fixing. 18mm panels with eucalyptus or keruing core are the UAE consultant standard.
Logistics and vertical transport
On towers above 30 storeys, plywood is craned in bundles to the active floor. Lightweight poplar-core sheets reduce crane time but wear faster; many UAE contractors now standardise on combi core as the sweet spot between weight and durability. Finish quality on exposed soffits
High-end residential and hotel towers in Dubai increasingly leave concrete soffits exposed as a design feature. This demands film-faced plywood that releases cleanly, leaving no fibre pull or stain. Superform-grade panels with 240 g/m² film and controlled veneer quality are specified on these architectural pours.
