Fast-track programmes and stripping time
Commercial buildings often run 3-4 day slab cycles to meet rent-ready deadlines. Film-faced plywood that releases cleanly without concrete adhesion allows faster stripping and earlier re-shuttering. Premium 220 g/m² film with controlled veneer quality strips cleaner than budget grades.
Large-span slabs and post-tensioned decks
Office and retail buildings use post-tensioned slabs with longer spans and thinner profiles. The plywood must stay flat under the concrete weight and PT duct placement loads. 18mm hardwood-core panels on closely spaced joists (300-350mm centres) are the standard solution.
Basement and podium levels
Commercial podiums and basements in the GCC often have thick raft slabs, retaining walls and transfer structures. These elements use 18mm-21mm panels under heavy concrete pressure. The basement environment is humid; WBP glue and factory edge sealing are essential.
Visible concrete in lobbies and atria
High-end commercial buildings specify fair-faced concrete in main lobbies, atria and feature walls. These limited areas require Superform-grade panels with 240 g/m² film. Manage these panels separately from the main structural stock to preserve their finish quality.
