Specialty Boards (Fire · MR · Acoustic · MgO)

Specialty engineered boards beyond standard wood-fibre: fire-rated FR boards, moisture-resistant MR boards, acoustic perforated panels, magnesium oxide (MgO) boards and bespoke engineered substrates.

    Overview

    What specialty boards is.

When a standard board cannot meet the specification (fire-rating in a public building, humidity in a hospitality wet zone, acoustic absorption in a hotel ballroom, or non-combustible structural sheathing), a specialty board system is required. TIC Dubai supplies the full specialty board catalogue, sourced from specialist European and Asian manufacturers and configured to project requirement.

Specialty boards are engineered panels with one or more performance characteristics enhanced beyond the standard wood-based catalogue: fire reaction (FR), moisture resistance (MR), acoustic absorption, magnesium oxide chemistry (MgO), or custom resin / fibre formulations. They are specified by architects, consultants and contractors where building code, life-safety code or environmental performance demands.

    Variants & Grades

    Specialty Boards variants.

    FR

    Fire-Rated (FR) Boards

MDF, particle board and gypsum-based panels treated or formulated to achieve Euroclass B / C, used in atriums, escape routes, hotels, hospitals and any public-building application where fire-rated substrates are required by code.

    MR

    Moisture-Resistant (MR) Boards

Moisture-resistant engineered boards including green-core MR particle board, MR plywood and MR gypsum board, for kitchens, bathrooms, hospitality wet zones and humid environments.

    AC

    Acoustic Perforated Boards

Pre-perforated MDF, plywood or fibreboard panels with engineered hole patterns for sound absorption, used in cinemas, recording studios, auditoria, hotels and education.

    MgO

    Magnesium Oxide (MgO) Boards

Non-combustible mineral board based on magnesium oxide/chloride chemistry. Strong A1 fire performance, moisture resistance, mould resistance and structural strength, used as wall lining, ceiling and floor substrate.

    ENG

    Bespoke Engineered Substrates

Custom-formulated boards for specific OEM, packaging, industrial or architectural requirements, engineered to the customer's density, thickness, surface and certification spec.
