    Distemonanthus benthamianus
    Bright Golden-Yellow African Hardwood

Movingui (also called Ayan or Nigerian Satinwood) is a striking golden-yellow African hardwood with fine, lustrous texture and interlocked grain. Used for decorative joinery, flooring, panelling and fine furniture where a warm yellow tone is desired.

    A satinwood alternative

Movingui's natural lustre and golden colour have earned it the nickname 'Nigerian Satinwood'. It machines and finishes well, although interlocked grain can cause tear-out on quartersawn faces - sharp tooling is recommended.
