Bubinga is a striking reddish-brown to violet-brown African hardwood with bold darker stripes and high lustre. Highly figured forms (waterfall, pommele) are prized for veneer, fine furniture and musical instruments. Listed on CITES Appendix II - full documentation supplied.
All three commercial Bubinga species (Guibourtia tessmannii, G. pellegriniana, G. demeusei) are listed on CITES Appendix II. We supply Bubinga only with full CITES passports, EUDR due-diligence statements and verified chain-of-custody back to the harvest concession.
Bubinga is dense and machines well with sharp carbide tooling. Highly figured boards can show interlocked or wavy grain that requires care when planing - light cuts and high cutter speeds give the best results. Finishes to a beautiful natural lustre.
