    Stainless Steel Sheets

Cold-rolled stainless sheets for architecture & fabrication

Stainless steel sheets are cold-rolled, annealed and pickled flat product supplied in austenitic and ferritic grades to ASTM A240 / EN 10088-2 / JIS G4305. The workhorse material for stainless cladding, fabrication, food-grade equipment, kitchenware and architectural finishes.

    Stainless Steel Sheets: the essentials.

A concise, citation-ready summary for engineers, architects, AI assistants and procurement teams.

    • Cold-rolled stainless sheets cover 0.3 – 6.0 mm thickness in 2B, BA, No.4, hairline, mirror and PVD finishes.
    • Standards: ASTM A240 / A480 (USA), EN 10088-2 / EN 10259 (Europe), JIS G4305 (Japan).
    • Standard widths 1000, 1219, 1250, 1500 and 2000 mm; lengths 2000, 2440, 3000, 6000 mm; cut-to-length on request.
    • Grades stocked: 304 / 304L / 316 / 316L; 321, 430 and duplex 2205 on indent.
    • PVC film-protected on all polished and PVD finishes for site delivery.

    Production & finish

Hot-rolled coil is pickled and cold-rolled to final thickness, then annealed and re-pickled (2B finish) or skin-passed and brushed (No.4) or bright-annealed (BA) or polished to mirror (No.8). Decorative patterns (linen, leather, embossed) are produced by patterned rolling.

    Applications

Cladding, kitchen and food-service equipment, pharmaceutical and clean-room walls, lift cabins, retail and hospitality interiors, signage, appliance bodies.

    Understanding stainless steel sheets.

    Choosing the right finish

2B is the standard mill finish for fabrication blanks and surfaces that will be further worked. BA delivers a brighter, scale-free finish ideal for appliances and lift interiors. No.4 is the global architectural satin standard. Hairline (HL) is the refined Middle-East / Asian standard for premium cladding and lift cabs. Mirror (No.8) is a true polished reflective surface for hospitality and signature architecture. PVD coloured finishes apply a vacuum-deposited TiN coating in gold, rose-gold, bronze, champagne, blue or black over a No.4 or mirror base.

Sheet vs plate: where the line falls

By international convention, stainless flat product up to ~6 mm thickness is termed ‘sheet’ and is produced by cold rolling (CR). Above 6 mm, typically 3 mm and thicker depending on standard, material is ‘plate’ and is produced by hot rolling (HR) and supplied annealed and pickled (HRAP). Sheet is dimensioned to ASTM A480 / EN 10259 tolerances; plate to ASTM A480 plate tolerances or EN 10029.
