Embossing is produced by patterned-roll cold-rolling. Etching uses photographic masking and chemical etchant to produce permanent matte / mirror pattern. PVD coats the surface with a 0.3–0.5 µm nitride film in a vacuum chamber, producing a finish that is durable, colour-fast and bonded to the substrate.
