Aluminium Alloy 1100: Commercial purity aluminium.

Commercially pure aluminium with excellent corrosion resistance, formability and thermal conductivity. The benchmark for chemical, food and decorative applications.

    Technical reference

    What is Aluminium Alloy 1100?

Aluminium Alloy 1100 is the most widely used commercially pure aluminium grade, containing a minimum of 99.0 % aluminium. With virtually no alloying additions, 1100 delivers the best corrosion resistance, the best workability and the highest thermal and electrical conductivity of the wrought aluminium family, at the trade-off of comparatively low mechanical strength. It is the alloy of choice wherever appearance, formability or chemical resistance matter more than load-bearing capacity.

1100 cold-forms, spins and deep-draws exceptionally well. It is readily welded by all common methods (TIG, MIG, resistance and gas) and anodises to a clear, even finish. Machining requires sharp tooling and generous cutting fluid because the alloy is soft and gummy.
