Copper tubes & pipes FAQ
What is ACR copper tube?
ACR (Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration) tube is manufactured to ASTM B280 in DHP copper (C12200). It is cleaned of oils and moisture, dehydrated, sealed with end caps and nitrogen-charged to prevent oxidation in service. Standard for all GCC air-conditioning and refrigeration installations.
Type K, L or M: which copper tube should I specify?
Type L is the universal default for plumbing and HVAC distribution. Type K (heavier wall) is required for underground, fire systems, medical gas and high-pressure service. Type M (thinner wall) is occasionally used for low-pressure indoor work where codes allow.
Do you supply medical grade copper tube?
Yes. Degreased and cleaned medical gas copper tube to BS EN 13348 / ASTM B819, certified for oxygen and medical gas service, with full traceability.
What working pressures do copper tubes withstand?
Working pressure depends on diameter, wall thickness, temper and temperature. Indicatively, ½″ Type L copper tube is rated >200 bar at room temperature. For HVAC, refrigeration and plumbing service it provides large safety margins over operating pressures.
