Hollow brass: lighter, faster, leaner.
Round, hexagonal, octagonal and custom hollow brass profiles, saving material, machining time and tool wear for valve, fitting and plumbing manufacturers across the GCC.
Round, hex, octagonal and custom.
Round Hollow Brass Rods
The standard for bored valve bodies and fittings, saving material and machining time.
Hexagonal Hollow Brass Rods
Free-cutting hexagonal hollows for nuts, unions and connector bodies.
Octagonal Hollow Brass Rods
Specialist hollows for valve bodies and forged plumbing parts.
Custom Hollow Profiles
Drawn to customer drawing, with wall thickness and bore optimised for the end part.
Four reasons fabricators specify it.
Weight reduction
Up to 40–60% lighter than solid equivalents, sharing the same outer profile with a hollow bore.
Machining advantages
The bore is pre-formed, eliminating drilling, reduces cycle time and swarf.
Tool wear reduction
Less material removed per part means longer tool life and lower per-part tooling cost.
Material savings
Brass cost is recovered upfront, giving a lower buy-to-fly ratio and reduced scrap revenue dependency.

Direct comparison.
| Property | Solid Rod | Hollow Rod |
|---|---|---|
| Material per part | 100% (reference) | 40–60% less |
| Drilling required | Yes | No, bore is pre-formed |
| Cycle time | Standard | Lower |
| Scrap (swarf) | High | Low |
| Best for | Small bore, simple parts | Larger bore valves, fittings, unions |

Brass hollow rods FAQ
When does hollow brass save money over solid brass?
Whenever the finished part has a significant axial bore. Hollow rod removes the drilling/boring operation, slashes swarf, reduces cycle time and cuts material consumption. Typical savings start to compound from Ø 20 mm upwards or wherever bore depth exceeds 3× diameter.
What outer diameters and wall thicknesses are available?
Standard outer diameters Ø 8 mm to Ø 80 mm with walls 1.5 mm to 10 mm. Cold drawn custom programmes are available to specific bore and wall combinations on customer drawing.
Which grades are supplied as hollow brass?
CW617N (hot stamping / forging brass) is the most common hollow grade. CW614N (free machining) and DZR / lead-free grades (CW602N, CW724R) are available on request.
