    Frequently Asked Questions

    Cold drawn brass coils FAQ

What diameter range is supplied as cold drawn brass coil?

Standard cold drawn brass coils are supplied from Ø 1.0 mm to Ø 16.0 mm. Smaller diameters down to 0.3 mm are available on specialist wire-drawing programmes.

Which grade is best for cold-heading brass fasteners?

Soft-temper CW508L (CuZn37) is the reference cold-heading grade with excellent cold formability. For higher strength fasteners CW612N or CW614N are preferred.

How should brass coils be stored?

Store in original packaging in a dry, ambient environment. Humidity and chloride-rich air accelerate tarnish; rotate stock first-in-first-out and protect spools from physical damage during handling.
